Barbara Peyton is principal of Peyton & Associates Consulting (www.peytonandassociates.com), a public affairs and environmental consulting firm located north of Houston. She has 30+ years’ experience in marketing, public relations, publishing, media relations, fund development and special events and is the recipient of numerous regional and national awards for her work in these areas. She has written or edited books, articles, newsletters and brochures on topics in education, sexual harassment, substance abuse, research, technology development and travel safety, most recently on how to close the achievement gap in public education for APQC. In addition, her interest in green building led to the creation in 1999 of Stained Concrete by Peyton & Associates, one of Houston’s leading decorative concrete design and applications firms.
Prior to opening her current businesses, she served in various communication posts at HARC, including vice president of public affairs.
