Dr. Eduardo (Jay) Olaguer, HARC’s Director of Air Quality Research, has recently published two new articles in the current issue of Journal of the Air and Waste Management Association (JAWMA). These articles document HARC’s new neighborhood air quality model, and its application to upstream oil and gas and downstream petrochemical industry impacts on air quality in the immediate vicinity of sources. In addition, an earlier article written in 2009 by Dr. Olaguer as lead author, in collaboration with scientists who participated in the Second Texas Air Quality Study (TexAQS II), was listed as one of the five most cited articles in JAWMA from 2009 to 2011 by 2012 Thomson Reuters, 2011 Journal Citation Reports. Lastly, the electronic newsletter, Earth Emphasis , identified Dr. Olaguer’s recent publication in the journal, Atmospheric Environment, entitled "Adjoint Model Enhanced Plume Reconstruction from Tomographic Remote Sensing Measurements," as being of special interest to progress in the Earth Sciences field. Earth Emphasis alerts the scientific community to breaking journal articles considered to represent the best in Earth Science research. The noted publications of Dr. Olaguer are as follows:
- E.P. Olaguer, 2012; "Near Source Air Quality Impacts of Large Olefin Flares," J. Air and Waste Management Assoc., vol. 62, issue 8, pp. 978-988.
- E.P. Olaguer, 2012; "The Potential Near Source Ozone Impacts of Upstream Oil and Gas Industry Emissions," J. Air and Waste Management Assoc., vol. 62, issue 8, pp. 966-977.
