UH Team Element1 at Houston Auto Show
At the Houston Auto Show this weekend, engineering students of Team Element1 presented their prototype hydrogen vehicle to hundreds of visitors.
HARC joined this University of Houston’s College of Technology innovative project as part of its support for hydrogen education in Texas.
The four seniors who designed and built the vehicle are awaiting delivery of the fuel cell which will use hydrogen to produce electricity for the vehicle’s electric powertrain.
Team1 is competing in the Shell Eco Marathon, which concludes with races in downtown Houston on March 26-28, 2010 at Discovery Green.
The winners will be the vehicles that are the most efficient in completing the performance requirements. More than 30 teams will be come to Houston for this international competition.
Team Element1 hopes that their 3,900 miles per gallon vehicle will be among the top entries.
