Committees & Meetings

The Cool Communities/Heat Island Committee meets monthly on the third Thursday at the Houston-Galveston Area Council. This committee was formed in 2001 to provide advice to the Regional Air Quality Planning Committee of H-GAC. Current chair of the committee is David Hitchcock, HARC.

The committee hears and discusses the science and modeling of heat island measures as well as specific technologies and programs that are associated with heat island mitigation.
