Project H046.T28.2004
Title:East Texas Land Use Land Cover
Project Period:10/01/2004 - 08/31/2005
Total Budget:$150,000
Sub-Contractors:University of Texas at Austin - Center for Space Research / UH - Gordon Wells ($150,000)

This project will develop a new high-resolution land use land cover (LULC) data set for meteorological, biogenic and photochemical grid modeling. The various LULC data sets currently in use for modeling are approaching obsolescence, having been developed during the 1990s. These current LULC data sets were created with different methodologies from various sources, and thus are not consistent from classification to classification. This new LULC will rectify this, as it will provide us with one large continuous data set for the entire eastern portion of the State. The data will increase the accuracy, and three aspects of SIP modeling biogenic emissions, meteorological, and photochemical modeling.
