| Center for Fuel Cell Research and Applications |
The Center provides decision-makers with an objective source of technical information crucial to the effective deployment of fuel cells. Access to our technical information will support good decisions as to how best to enter the emerging fuel cell marketplace.
The Center's Core Program is intended for companies wishing to keep tabs on progress in the fuel cell, hydrogen, and related industries. The program is ideal for corporate R&D groups, venture capitalists, government planners, and fuel cell technology developers and equipment suppliers. Supplemental Projects extend the activities of the CFCRA beyond the scope of the program's core activities. Supplemental Projects are ideally structured to study, address, or overcome existing barriers to the commercialization of fuel cells and other hydrogen economy technologies. Consistent with HARC's mission and expertise, Supplemental Projects should be geared toward facilitating and enhancing market entry for near-commercial technologies.
These programs will help your organization to:
- Evaluate the importance of emerging technologies and companies
- Determine the actual performance of near commercial fuel cell systems
- Compare manufacturers and their products
- Assess the technical progress being made by technology developers and manufacturers
- Determine how fuel cell systems can be deployed effectively
Sponsors are invited to two meetings each year (typically in June and December). At the meetings, Sponsors will:
- Obtain test and evaluation information
- Hear the manufacturers report on their technology and market directions
- Network with other Sponsors
- Investigate opportunities to initiate Supplemental Projects
- Discuss fuel cell industry status and opportunities
- Establish the ongoing research needs and directions
The Center also publishes an Industry Assessment Report, which provides a synopsis on the prospects for the fuel cell industry based upon individual evaluations of companies engaged in fuel cell stack development and system manufacturing. For each of the companies covered, the report provides contact information, ownership structure, alliances, and a brief description of the technological approach, products, and market strategy.
